A Modern Banking Experience Rooted in Community.

Located adjacent to Raleigh’s Village District, Pinnacle Financial Partners reimagines the traditional bank branch through a contemporary mixed-use workplace designed to balance accessibility, transparency, and neighborhood character. Replacing an existing structure on a constrained urban site, the 12,000-square-foot building was thoughtfully designed to respond to its context while creating a welcoming customer experience at street level and a functional, people-centered workplace above.
Designed for Banking and Business
The two-story building organizes public-facing banking services on the ground floor, creating an approachable and convenient experience for customers, while the second level supports Pinnacle’s corporate operations through thoughtfully designed office environments. Through architecture, interiors, and planning, the project brings together operational functionality with a modern workplace experience that supports collaboration, privacy, and employee wellbeing.
A Thoughtful Response to a Challenging Site
Situated along Oberlin Road in one of Raleigh’s most established districts, the project required careful planning to navigate site constraints, city requirements, and neighborhood context. Conscious of the surrounding fabric of the Village District, the design team worked closely within City of Raleigh guidelines to deliver a building that feels contemporary while remaining responsive to its setting. Expansive glazing introduces natural light throughout the interiors, reinforcing a sense of openness and connection.
Transparency Through Design
Materiality played an important role in shaping the identity of the building, blending glass, wood detailing, brick, and metal elements to create an environment that feels both refined and approachable. The result is a banking experience designed around visibility, trust, and human connection—reflecting Pinnacle’s commitment to serving clients while strengthening its presence in Raleigh.
