Elegant & Timeless for the Experience of Aging Well.
Raleigh, NC
The four-story Waltonwood Lead Mine community was thoughtfully designed to support a vibrant and engaging experience of senior living, providing housing for 100 residents, including 30 dedicated memory care units. Rather than approaching care as institutional, the design embraces a hospitality-inspired environment shaped around comfort, dignity, and meaningful daily experiences.
Designed for Connection & Everyday Wellbeing
Interior and exterior spaces were intentionally layered to support a range of lifestyles and levels of independence, balancing opportunities for social engagement with moments of quiet retreat. Abundant access to daylight, views to nature, and welcoming gathering spaces help foster a sense of familiarity and belonging throughout the community.

Amenities designed for Wellness & Connection
Amenities were designed to encourage everyday connection and wellbeing, including a secure interior courtyard, rooftop terrace, theater, salon, fitness center, activity spaces, and multiple dining venues that bring residents together throughout the day. These thoughtfully designed environments support wellness, recreation, and relationship-building while helping residents remain connected to both community and routine.
Supporting the Experience of Living Well
Rooted in Cline’s belief that thoughtfully designed environments can enhance quality of life, Waltonwood Lead Mine reflects a holistic approach to senior living, one that supports independence, encourages connection, and creates opportunities for joy in everyday moments. Through architecture and interiors designed around the evolving needs of aging adults, the community offers a welcoming environment where residents can feel comfortable, supported, and at home.
