Greenfield Place and Greenfield Commons was imagined as a community where families, seniors and individuals qualifying for affordable housing could call home. This 149-unit affordable housing community is situated on an eight acre topographically challenged site. The buildings front to a pedestrian-oriented main street where tenants can enjoy walks along the tree-lined streets with parallel parked spaces that culminates to the seniors building of phase two. The projects are joined with a highly integrated, pedestrian-friendly sidewalk system and greenway connector that also connects to nearby amenities. As one of the first projects developed in the Blue Hill District, Cline worked closely with key stakeholders from Chapel Hill and DHIC throughout the development, review and approval process.
