Cline Acquires Austin-based Mark Odom Studio
From Raleigh Roots to New Texas Horizons, Cline Acquires Award-Winning Firm as Part of Strategic Expansion
RALEIGH, NC, January 20, 2026 — Cline, a visionary architecture, interior design, and landscape architecture firm, announced today that Mark Odom Studio, the award-winning Austin-based architecture and interiors firm, will join forces with the North Carolina–based company. This strategic expansion strengthens Cline’s operations in Raleigh and Charlotte, while extending its services into one of the nation’s fastest-growing urban markets.
The move enables Cline to establish a physical footprint in Texas, leveraging Mark Odom Studio’s deep local roots and award-winning reputation. The transaction joins both complementary practices under one integrated platform with client continuity at the forefront. The expanded expertise and resources will further strengthen Cline’s capabilities across residential, mixed-use, workplace, commercial, and renovation and reuse markets.

“Raleigh is Cline’s first home and the Carolinas are at its foundation,” said Michael Mesnard, AIA, Cline CEO. “The acquisition of Mark Odom Studio, an inventive design voice with recognized work across residential, commercial, and mixed-use, will build and expand that foundation, pairing Texas market insight with Cline’s multi-disciplinary depth. Clients will experience the same trusted teams—now with greater creative range and delivery horsepower.”
Spanning 37 years, Cline has continued to increase its presence throughout the Carolinas with notable projects, most recent include Forge at Raleigh Iron Works, Charlotte’s Graham Street redevelopment, Seaboard Station, Ballantyne Towerview, Highland North Hills and Hazel Southpark.
Mark Odom Studio, led by principals Mark Odom, AIA, and Jed Duhon, AIA, is known for its architecture and interior projects across commercial, mixed-use, multifamily, residential and adaptive reuse. The firm’s organic growth beyond Texas has been driven by partnerships with forward-thinking clients such as Jetzero, an innovative aerospace company headquartered in Long Beach, CA, and expanding into Greensboro, NC, with the firm supporting office development across both markets.
Odom and Duhon will continue to lead day-to-day operations in Austin, Texas, supporting Cline’s expanded resources—including planning & urban design and brand design, while advancing broader capabilities and a shared commitment to design excellence.
“We are grateful to be aligned with Cline, as our cultures and values strongly complement one another. This is a natural next step, and our team is ready!” says Mark Odom, Founding Principal, Mark Odom Studio. “We look forward to building a strong future together—one rooted in shared values, complementary strengths, and a commitment to thoughtful growth.”
Cline teams across Raleigh and Charlotte will guide day-one integration, ensuring existing project relationships remain intact while unlocking access to a broader, interdisciplinary bench spanning architecture, planning & urban design, landscape architecture, interior design, and brand design.
With the expanded footprint, Cline will now connect a wider constellation of designers and specialists to shape places where people live, work, and gather to amplify what the firm does best: deliver integrated solutions that move projects—and communities—forward.
